99 Cent Science…. This hour workshop will use items found in a 99 Cent Store! In budgetary times inexpensive items can be used to demonstrate inquiry activities, demonstrations and individual lab activities.. A sampling of activities will be demonstrated in a “hands-on” workshop format. The age range of activities will be from 5-9. Physical science, life science and earth science will be topics covered. Earth Science topics: weathering lab with coffee cans, edible faults with peanut butter sandwiches. Physical science activities gumdrop atoms, magic cups with water, Life science activities bird beak adaptations, build a bug. All of these activities will focus on at least one of the eight NGSS (Next Generation Science Standards) science practices. NERDY by NATURE will be performing a new song “All about the Base (no acid)”.
